Azimut Equity Opportunities Fund (az-fors)

AZ Opportunity Fund (AZ FRS) is an open-ended equity fund managed by Azimut Egypt Asset Management, aiming to achieve high capital growth through an active investment strategy focused on selecting equities listed on the Egyptian Exchange. The fund targets opportunities arising from pricing inefficiencies, high-growth potential, and special situations such as IPOs, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate restructurings.

The fund adopts a flexible, high-conviction investment approach primarily focused on domestic equities, with the ability to expand into Egyptian companies listed on international markets. It emphasizes undervalued stocks and companies with strong growth prospects, enhancing its ability to generate superior returns. The portfolio is managed with tactical flexibility, allowing equity exposure to reach up to approximately 90% of net assets, with the ability to reduce it to around 30% during periods of market volatility or downturns, thereby supporting risk management and capital preservation.

The fund’s primary objective is long-term capital appreciation rather than income distribution, seeking to maximize returns relative to a calculated level of risk, with a consistent aim to outperform the broader market and peer equity funds through active and selective portfolio management.

Management Fees: 5% of the increase in unit price The AZ Opportunity Fund follows a differentiated fee structure compared to most funds in Egypt, as it does not charge a traditional fixed annual management fee. Instead, fees are performance-based, aligning the fund manager’s compensation with the actual returns delivered to investors.
