AZ Edkhar Fixed Income Fund is the first issuance under the AZIMUT Multi-Issuance Fixed Income Fund. It is an open-ended investment fund denominated in Egyptian Pounds that aims to grow investors' capital by investing in a diversified portfolio of fixed income instruments and money market instruments, while seeking to achieve a cumulative return commensurate with its risk level and maintaining an appropriate level of liquidity.
The fund's investment policy is based on diversifying investments across several asset classes within specified investment limits. It may invest up to 95% of its net assets in Treasury Bills, Treasury Bonds, and government-guaranteed securities, and up to 65% in corporate bonds and securitized bonds, provided that investments in any single issuance do not exceed 15% of its value. The fund may also invest up to 50% of its assets in bank deposits, interest-bearing accounts, savings accounts, and certificates of deposit and investment denominated in both local and foreign currencies with banks supervised by the Central Bank of Egypt, and up to 20% in money market funds and fixed income funds, provided that such investments do not exceed 5% of the total units of any underlying fund.
The investment policy also permits investments in tradable Sukuk of up to 5% of the fund's net assets, and in purchased future receivables portfolios from licensed microfinance and consumer finance companies of up to 15% of the fund's net assets, provided that such investments do not exceed 30% of the financing portfolio of any single entity. In addition, the fund may invest up to 25% of its net assets in other investment instruments approved by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA). The Information Memorandum also requires that the weighted average maturity of the fund's portfolio does not exceed three years, helping to reduce the portfolio's sensitivity to interest rate fluctuations.
